6 Tips And Tricks For Those Who Wear Glasses

I have been wearing glasses since the age of 8—that’s a very long time. Afraid that I would be called “four eyes” in school the moment I stepped foot into my classroom, I cried all night thinking that glasses would ruin my life forever (I never took in the fact that they would also help me see a lot better). But, let me break it to you: I love wearing my pair of specs, and they’ve become a huge part of who I am!

I now wear my glasses everywhere I go, and although I can see super clear, there are some inconveniences associated with wearing them. For example, they fog up when I’m out in the cold and getting rid of the fogginess takes tremendous effort.

So for someone who wears them often, I need a couple of tricks up my sleeve to ensure that these inconveniences don’t happen too often. Do you also wear glasses on a regular basis? If so, tune in below and read six important hacks every glasses-wearing person needs to know!

6. How to stop glasses from fogging

Rub a soap bar on your lenses and clean it off with a cloth. The next time you go out, you’ll notice that your glasses are fog-free.

5. How to stop them from sliding down your nose

Take a little bit of eyeshadow primer (yes, even the gentlemen) and dab it on the bridge of your nose–the glasses will stop slipping down.

4. How to see in the shower without your specs

Once your glasses are off, it’s hard to read labels on shampoos and conditioners, in the shower. Simply wrap a rubber band around the shampoo bottle to distinguish it from the conditioner.

3. How to make a homemade lens cleaner

Mix 2 parts rubbing alcohol with 1 part water and 3 drops of dish soap—voila, there’s your cleaner! For best results, use a microfibre cloth to wipe your lenses.

2. How to remove scratches from the lenses

Take a non-abrasive toothpaste and dab a small amount on your lenses. Rub the paste in a circular motion over the lenses and rinse it off with water. Good as new!

1. How to straighten out crooked glasses

Place your glasses on a table to see which side isn’t touching the table top. Adjust the end until it is—straightened glasses!

Here’s hoping that these tips and tricks were useful for you. If you enjoyed this post, or know someone who needs a glasses-related trick or two up their sleeve, then don’t forget to like and share this post with them!
