As an avid fan of television talent shows, I’ve seen a lot of amazing singing performances. From “American Idol” to the “The Voice,” and “America’s Got Talent,” and “Britain’s Got Talent,” there is no shortage of truly talented singers out there in the world. There are plenty of people who impress judges and audiences and even win these competitions, but there are some performances that are unforgettable.
Ronan Parke first came to the music world’s attention when he appeared on “Britain’s Got Talent” in 2011. In his first auditions, the judges knew he was going to be a star. At only 12-years-old, he showed not only an amazing talent for singing but a professionalism on stage well beyond his years and a humble, down to earth attitude. Like most young singers with his kind of talent, it’s hard to imagine that such a huge voice came from such a small person. Furthermore, it’s difficult to fathom how he could inject so much emotion into his performances—he’s an “old soul.”
Ronan didn’t win the talent competition but was runner up. That didn’t stop his rise to fame, however, and he continues to be a presence in the music industry in Great Britain. But, people still remember this astounding performance on “Britain’s Got Talent.”
For this moment, Ronan chose the song “Because of You,” an interesting musical choice considering that the original singer was Kelly Clarkson. Kelly appeared on “American Idol,” judged by Simon Cowell. He was also judging “Britain’s Got Talent” when Ronan took the stage. Simon is a notoriously critical and difficult-to-please judge, but Ronan’s risky song choice paid off. He blew everyone away with his rendition of the song and delivered a poised and unforgettable performance.
