Helpful Dog Teaches 5-Month-Old How To Crawl

Babies and dogs just seem to go together. They’re both adorable, bring endless smiles to our faces, and also have a similar habit of getting into all kinds of adorable messes. It’s hard for me to imagine a household with a baby that doesn’t have a dog in it. The main reason: If you don’t have a dog, then someone has to clean up all of the bits of food that are dropped on the floor from baby’s high chair? In my opinion, that in itself makes owning a dog worth it.

There’s also the fact that pets and dogs just seem to bond together in a special way. Dogs are our loyal companions and can be incredibly perceptive and they can sense our love and protectiveness for the new tiny human. In an effort to please, and perhaps from some sort of biological instinct, they will often care for and protect a new baby, looking after them and keeping them safe. And as an added bonus, the baby has lots of fun chew toys!

So, it’s no surprise to see a pup trying to help out his new human sibling when he struggles to grasp the concept of standing up and walking. Now, the little one in this video isn’t old enough to walk yet, he’s still at the crawling stage, but his helpful canine pal doesn’t know that.

As the baby scoots around, crawling and giggling, the dog decides to show him how it’s done. He starts out just like baby—”Here, tiny human, this is what you are doing now. We are crawling.” The dog actually crawls, looking back to see if baby is paying attention! “Now, tiny human, we stand up, just like this.” It’s just too adorable!
