Dog With Damaged Spine Can’t Walk. Months Later He’s Running Towards Camera, Smiling.

You’ve probably been told, at one point or another, that if you continue to hope and believe, anything is possible. And while the road may be extremely challenging and perhaps frustrating, many have learned that hard work and persistence really does pay off…sometimes to the extent that it’s almost unbelievable—like the story of Kenny the pup.

Kenny is an adorable doberman who had to endure immense hardship in his life. When he was found by rescue group, Two Hands Four Paws, he had a severely damaged spine to the point where he was unable to walk. He was seen by a few specialists who agreed that Kenny would be better off being euthanized instead of treated, but the rescue group had other plans for little Kenny.

They spent six months helping Kenny every single day. This meant doing leg exercises with him, taking him outside by holding two strong leashes to take the weight off his body, and eventually, taking those leashes off so that Kenny could run freely. And yes, after six months, Kenny was able to run!

In the video below, you’ll see a man walking slowly down a corridor while Kenny waits for him to walk away completely. Once the man comes to a standstill, Kenny comes running in the camera and the man’s direction, with a big smile on his face! Who would have possibly thought that that would ever be possible? The rescue group, Two Hands Four Paws, for one—they knew they could do it! They undoubtedly had the biggest amount of love and faith in Kenny, and that love clearly made a huge difference to his life.

The best part of this beautiful video however, is the fact that Kenny can be seen with a smile on his face, even when he was at his worst. It is truly amazing what we can achieve when we have a positive outlook and a helping hand!
