Which is why this surprising video of an elderly farmer named Jay Lavery entertaining the internet has captured the hearts of millions worldwide.
In the video below, filmed in December 2016, you’ll notice that a camera has been set up in a barn filled with farm animals. Then, Lavery walks in and begins raking up the surrounding hay. Suddenly, the music starts—the sassy “Cheap Thrills” by Sia, and we see him slowly bust out a few dance moves.
At first, it’s confusing as you wonder what the heck he’s doing, but soon, you realize that this young-at-heart man has got some pretty slick dance moves. Lavery admits that, at first, he merely filmed himself dancing so that he could post it on his personal Facebook page for his friends and family. But soon, the video spread rapidly, as he decided to grace the world with his moves. He explains that he had suffered a back injury which had resulted in him having several surgeries. He says that he shared the video to “inspire anyone to move in spite of the pain,” and that he hopes the video “puts a smile on your face for the New Year.”
