The two ingredients you’ll need to make this solution are vinegar and baking soda. That’s it! And it’s safe to assume that everyone has white vinegar and baking soda stocked up somewhere in the house, right?
The solution will not only help clean the outside of the drain (the stainless steel rim) but also instantly unclog it as well; both vinegar and baking soda are also safe for the pipes, so you don’t have to worry about damaging those, either.
All you need to do is spill some baking soda down the drain and follow it with a splash of vinegar. It’s that easy and equally as effective as the store-bought products.
