Man Uses Steel Wool On His Old Windshield And The Glass Is Now Crystal Clear

I remember always wanting my own car. Once I got my first job, a car was what I was saving up for, for the longest time. It felt like an eternity before I could finally sign off on something that was mine, and the feeling of driving off with it from the dealership was amazing.

Then came the luxuries of being able to drive wherever I want, but also the maintenance and cleaning up a vehicle required. For those who may not know,  let me tell you that convenience and responsibility come hand-in-hand.

I don’t currently own a car but when I did, one of the things that drove me crazy was when my windshield became dirty and no amount of windshield wiping or squeegeeing could get the job done. It goes without saying that I need my visibility! It’s just not safe… and dead bugs all over the windshield is never fashionable.

I ended up buying some special cleaners and I’ve even taken a scraper to my windshield on a couple of occasions but in the end, my windshield still looked like a cloudy, grimy mess with water spots all over. So after I finally gave up, I shelled out a whole lot of cash to get the professionals to make things right. But luckily for you, we have a very cool and easy trick to get your windshield looking beautifully clear without spending a whole lot of money.

The secret? Steel wool, grade #0000. Yes, make sure there are four zeros or else you’ll end up scratching the glass. Again, that #0000 with four zeros, I can’t stress that enough! Using this steel wool, you should be able to get rid of all but the very worst water spots. Just rub the wool all over your windshield, especially in areas where you can feel any dirt.

Once that’s completed and your windshield feels noticeably smoother, apply some Rain-X on a sock and apply it thoroughly on your windshield in a circular motion but make sure to avoid getting Rain-X on your car’s paint. Apply a couple of coats and once they’ve dried, soak a rag with some water and wipe off any excess Rain-X.
