Portable Tiny Home Is Deceivingly Huge On The Inside

If you think that the tiny home trend is over, let’s just say it’s just begun. An increasing number of individuals recognize minimal square-footage as their new “American dream,” placing value on experiences, travel, and people rather than material goods. Of course, tiny homes are not for everyone, but if you feel a little squeamish or even claustrophobic at the thought of living in a tight space, you’re in for a change in mindset.

Tiny home designer and entrepreneur, Ana White, took advantage of the small-space-living craze and proves to us that one of her client’s 24′ x 8.5′ x 13′ house is as spacious as one could ever need. In fact, Ana cleverly formulated the home’s space, functionality, and visual appeal, inputting her expert skills in every detail from the sleeping space to the versatility of the eating area. Each section of the home is tidy and plenty livable.

Shall we take a peek?! Ana is about to take us on a tour of the portable home she designed for a client in Alaska. Here’s the outside:

Ana’s client’s home is sleek, modern, and is equipped with lots of windows. We also notice it’s attached to a trailer, perfect for travelers or those needing a versatile form of living. Just wait until you see the inside!

Walking in, she shows us her client’s nifty storage wall in the roomy entryway.

Take off your coat, and place it on this coat rack because this little home tour will have you never wanting to leave.

In all seriousness, how neat is this storage area? According to Ana, “Living in rural Alaska like I do, we don’t have a Target anywhere nearby, so everything pretty much has to be made.” She had to create several of the features in her client’s home from scratch, including the storage units and displays she’s showing in this frame.

Plenty of room for a living space, work/eating space, and sleeping area are provided.

Behind Ana, we see a nice counter area for work or eating. In her client’s living space on the cozy back wall, we see that there are a full-sized couch and a flat screen television.

But, of course, there’s more to it than just this! Click on the next page to complete the tour!

I don’t think that anyone can imagine living in such a small trailer. A lot of people prefer homes that are spacey and almost lavish; I know of people who live in large homes but with a very limited number of family members. I never got the point of that, but I’m sure it all made sense to them. The space that Ana is sharing with us is compact but spacey. This concept might not make any sense, but there are more photos and a virtual video tour to put everything in perspective. So, keep reading!

The simple, clean space in this tiny home offers suitable livability, and the several windows offer substantial natural lighting—no extra lighting necessary during the daytime, that’s for sure!

You may be thinking, where is the sleeping space? Wait for it, wait for it. Andddd, voila!

The bed securely drops down over her living room area with a press of a button thanks to sliding door hardware and a garage storage lift. Many tiny homes have lofts or claustrophobic, enclosed rooms for sleeping, but this sleeping space doesn’t require much climbing nor the feeling of being “closed in” while trying to fall asleep at night.

But what if Ana’s client has friends over? Do they have a place to sleep too?

Yes, they do! The tiny house’s couch turns into a cozy bed for when she has guests! Great use of space and functionality, right? This nifty couch-to-bed feature also allows the client to relax while watching their flat screen television or to take a quick nap.

Ana shows us her client’s work/eating space, turning a slim counter into a small, one-person desk and then into larger eating space.

Now, to see how she turns this little desk into a bar space and then into a large dining table, you’ll have to watch the video below because you haven’t seen that or the other half of the features of this tiny home, yet. You still need to see the pantry, washer and dryer units, and bathroom. There’s also a significant amount of “hidden” and interchangeable objects in this home that offer extra storage space or functionality.

To see the full tour of this tiny home, be sure to watch the video. It’s like no other tiny home you’ve ever seen before. Like and share this on Facebook to show your friends how neat this home is from its sleek design to its perfect use of tiny space!
