This School Was SHOCKED By What They Found Hidden Behind The Chalkboard… My Mind Is Blown!

It probably won’t be too far into the future when chalkboards become a “thing of the past” at schools and are replaced with some type of fancy new technology. But until then, I’m pretty sure we can all say that we’ve learned more than a few things by staring (or pretending to stare) at these ubiquitous teaching aids. But for Emerson High School in Oklahoma City, their chalkboards were about to teach them a very surprising lesson on the school’s own history. This is truly a spectacular discovery…

Contractors began remodeling work at Emerson High School…

…but their work came to a halt when they removed the chalkboards and made a startling discovery: untouched chalkboards from nearly 100 years ago!

When new chalkboards were installed in 1917, they simply fastened them over the old ones.

These chalkboards were found in four different rooms, with the subjects and lessons well coordinated.

English teacher Cinthea Comer told The Oklahoman “It was so eerie because the colors were so vibrant it looked like it was drawn the same day. To know that it was drawn 100 years ago… it’s like you’re going into a looking glass into the past.”

Look at that amazing penmanship!
