Charlie Brown taught us that it doesn’t really matter if you have a gorgeous tree, a lavishly decorated house, and a huge stack of expensive gifts. A tiny little stick of a tree with a single ornament and a small star on top is enough Christmas spirit. Everything may not be picture perfect come Christmas morning, but the things that really matter are friends, family, and the spirit of the season.

Once you become a parent, you quickly realize that Christmas is no longer about you, but your children.
6. Even Christmas Lights Are Expensive
Everyone has that neighbor that goes all out with the Christmas decorations. There are lights, reindeer, and giant inflatable Santas. When that’s your next door neighbor, it’s not even worth it to try to compete.
7. Someone Is Eating Well
Even preparing the Christmas meal can be expensive. Fortunately, peasants are on sale this year, so that should lessen the burden.
8. Checking Your Account
If there’s one thing that’s terrifying during the holidays, it’s checking in on your bank account. Looks like peanut butter and jelly is on the menu for January. It’s okay, we’ve all been there at some point.
