Everyone loves a good photo shoot. For those who appreciate the beauty and aesthetics of a well-staged picture, they all appreciate the efforts taken by the photographer to get the shot just right; and two such photographers are being featured in this post, today.
In a sunny, and almost always summery Valencia, Spain, you would imagine that everyone loves the ideal weather that many of us in other parts of the world (*cough* Canada *cough*) don’t get to enjoy too often. And while the masses may like good ol’, sun-clad Valencia, there are actually a couple of photographers don’t seem to fit that bill—Daniel and Anna.
Daniel and Anna are both architects who turned their educational background into a treat for everyone’s sore eyes.
They’re photographers who travel around the world to bring to life their creative visions of various structures and patterns.

And that’s exactly why they don’t enjoy fun-in-the-sun as often: “It [the weather] is too great for us because it’s always sunny, and too hot, to be outside. As photographers, it can be hard for us to work in these conditions.”
Daniel and Anna met in university, in Valencia, and were instantly attracted to each others’ creative sides.
So, they decided to “create a universe of our own images” and take their audience with them.
At 26 years of age, both Anna and Daniel are graduated architects, reminiscing of their time in university (in Valencia), when they became a couple. They found creativity in each other’s ideas and went after their dream of creating art and, as Daniel puts it, developing “a universe of our own images.”

They didn’t pursue the technical aspects of architecture, such as designing buildings, mainly because it’s too time-consuming and a takeaway from their passion of pursuing photography.
They merged their love for architecture and photography into one and are happily chasing their dreams.

As photographers, they wanted to present their audience with creative and funny images.
After they started dating, the couple talks about how they would go out and take pictures of each other, as well as together (like any other couple). It was then that they started seeing these images differently—it became a way of experimentation.
They then started developing sketches of what would look funny in front of the camera.
Creativity is nothing new to this couple—art runs in their family, and they’ve been exposed to it since childhood.
Daniel’s father, now an airplane mechanic, used to be a photographer who would shoot at weddings and other events.
Daniel says, “we started developing more and more ideas [about what would look funny in front of the lens]. We then began to play with creative ideas before shooting. Before we went out, we’d start making sketches of what we wanted to shoot. It’s so similar to how architects design a building. You sketch a small idea and in the future, it becomes something so much bigger.”
Anna’s parents designed and constructed, showrooms for designers, and so they were always used to working with their hands.
But she was also always interested in camera’s and would often play around with them.
Creativity, though, runs through this couple’s veins from their respective childhoods. Daniel’s father, now an airplane mechanic, used to be a photographer who would shoot at weddings and other events.
Daniel mentions that his dad, “was always very compelled to take pictures of the family on vacations and during other events like birthdays, and I think that translated into what I like. I always loved having the feeling of a camera around because it made me feel that the occasion was special.”
Together, they admit that Anna is the one who is “more creative and [always] thinking of crazy ideas.”
Anna is known to be very hands-on and has a love for cameras from the time she was a little girl: “She’s always been fascinated with working with her hands.” Her parents designed and constructed showrooms for designers, and so they were always used to working with their hands—this is where Anna draws inspiration from when it comes to her creativity. Together, they admit that Anna is the one who is “more creative and [always] thinking of crazy ideas.”
Sometimes they even create their locations for shoots, using paper and other materials.
Because creativity oozes out of this couple, they’re known to create some of the most amazing locations to carry out their shoots. There are times when they have an idea but can’t narrow in on the perfect location, so they use paper and other materials to create that ideal environment—these locations are their favorites!
Daniel and Anna say that every shoot is an adventure.
Daniel and Anna say that every shoot is an adventure. They’ve traveled the world and shot in cities such as Copenhagen, Munich, and Dubrovnik. But, they weren’t always able to travel. Although both of them were interested in traveling, studying architecture is time-consuming, and requires a lot of focus, so they reserved their traveling for after graduation, all the while pursuing their love for art!

But, here’s a fun fact: For their pictures, they usually don’t wear jackets or coats—they’re always wearing simple outfits! But in Dubrovnik, they “were freezing to death.” They couldn’t feel their fingers and were eager to go back to the hotel room to wear warmer clothes. But they say that “It’s funny how in our pictures we’re smiling and being funny, without anyone knowing how cold we really were!”
Well, I guess that’s the art of a true artist!
But their favorite locations are always the ones that they get to create themselves.
That’s when they’re the most creative!
