At a loss, Wilma called the pound first, to confirm the man’s story. It was true. She then called a friend to help with the money needed to free Fred, and she agreed to put up the money, and also encouraged Wilma to find out more of the young man’s story. 30-year-old Patrick had been arrested for trespassing and detained for two days, which is why Fred had been impounded.
Little Fred was overjoyed to be reunited with Patrick!
Wilma took Patrick to the pound, where he was finally able to pick up his beloved pooch. Little Fred was overjoyed to see his owner again. Patrick tried to give Wilma the rest of the money he had collected. Wilma refused of course; she only wished that she could do more to help. But on that day, at that moment, Wilma had given Patrick and little Fred Frederick the world.
