It was a dream come true for Shannon, she had finally met the love of her life. His name was Don Perez, and he was a very kind and caring man who was also a father of two wonderful young boys. The two fell deeply in love and when the couple finally got engaged, Shannon couldn’t wait to finally get married and become part of a new family. But before the wedding day, she received some absolutely horrible news: her father had been diagnosed with cancer.
Shannon had hoped to share her wedding day with her father but it was not to be. Shannon ended up losing her father before her wedding day and she was absolutely devastated. It was at that point that Don knew that he needed to do something truly special for his bride-to-be.
On Shannon and Don’s wedding day, the newlyweds were happily celebrating but the absence of Shannon’s father could certainly be felt. But Don had an absolutely incredible secret for his wife. Don starts off with an incredibly fun choreographed dance with his two sons Tommy and Joey, but when Somewhere Over The Rainbow begins playing, he slips into a T-shirt. The back of the T-shirt reads “May I have this dance?” and it leaves everyone a bit confused. However, once Don turned around to face Shannon, he revealed a photo of her late father. Don paid tribute to Shanon’s father and also gave her the opportunity to have something that she thought she had lost: the father-daughter dance. It was a truly heartfelt moment that left Shannon in tears.
