The Groom Steps Onto The Dance Floor With His Mom And They Bring Down The House

While a wedding ceremony may be the time to respect tradition and formally tie the knot, the wedding reception is the time to cut loose and do whatever makes the bride and groom happy!

Okay, so there’s still an element of tradition at most wedding receptions but most couples take this opportunity to really put their personal touch on what many consider to be the biggest day of their lives. And what’s one of the most spectacular ways a groom can respect tradition while also doling out some creative expression? How about throwing down on the dance floor for the mother-son dance? And if you need any proof, look no further than Jared and his mom.

The bride and groom kicked things off with a beautiful first dance.

And then it was time for the groom to dance with his mother. Don’t they look so sweet together?

Jared and his mom started dancing to Celine Dion’s classic “Because You Love Me.” It was a precious moment, symbolizing the eternal love of a mother for her son, despite now being in the loving care of his new wife.

But suddenly, something completely unexpected happened that left their guests stunned…

Mistakes and problems are pretty much inevitable at such large and complex events. But there are certain things that really need to happen without a hitch. The mother and son dance is one of those things. And frankly, this is one of the things that should be easy to get right.

So what happened?

Everything was going smoothly until the music suddenly cut out in the middle of their dance. Uh oh… way to ruin a very special moment!

Things were going fine until the music came to a very abrupt stop. Everyone started looking around in complete confusion. Just what the heck was going on? Did the DJ mess up? Mistakes happen but this was a very important moment!

That’s when Jared slyly handed his mother a pair of shades. It was go time.

Yep, fret not. It was all part of their master plan. The music starts back up but with a much funkier mashup. The Bee Gees’ “Stayin’ Alive” kicks things off and the mother-son duo break out into some impressive disco moves! The pair continues the performance with more choreographed dances for MC Hammer’s “U Can’t Touch This,” Psy’s “Gangham Style,” Family Force’s “Chainsaw” and more. Jared and Mom totally slayed it with their dance moves. Their family and friends went nuts!

Watch the video below to see how it all went down. It’s such fun and creative take on a tradition that the family will cherish for the rest of their lives. If you enjoyed this story, make someone’s day by sharing it with your family and friends!
