3 Hacks To Clean Dirty Glass Stovetops

I have a cleaning routine every single weekend. I wake up, have breakfast, throw a face mask and get cleaning (I do take a break after the initial 20 minutes to take the face mask off). I clean all the rooms in the house, the washrooms, sweep, dust, and mop, and ensure that even my countertops are squeaky clean. Especially the ones in the kitchen.

The kitchen is the one place in the house that takes the most time for me because of everything that needs individual attention—the pantry, fridge, counters, microwave, oven, and then the stovetops. Now when it comes to stovetops, it’s a lot more work than I had ever thought. And because I have glass stovetops, they usually need cleaning every day as opposed to every week.

If you have a glass stovetop, then you know that there are so many cleaning products available for you to buy at your local department store. However, I would tune into the list below to see quick and easy DIY ways to clean the stove as opposed to spending money on chemical cleaners!

1. The towel method

Wipe the stovetop with vinegar and then sprinkle a good amount of baking soda on the surface. Then take a towel and throw it into hot water and ring out the excess to make it damp. Spread this towel over the stove and leave it there for 15 minutes. Come back and scrub the residue with a sponge.

2. Use the ammonia and alcohol solution

Take one part ammonia, ten parts water, and three ounces of rubbing alcohol. Mix these ingredients into a solution and spray over the glass top. Let the solution sit for a few minutes and then wipe it off.

3. The classic dish soap formula

Believe it or not, dish soap works when it comes to cleaning glass stovetops. Lather the stove with the dish soap and then sprinkle some baking soda on top. Then add a little bit of hydrogen peroxide to the mixture and swirl everything together onto the surface. Take elbow grease and scrub everything off; lastly, wipe the stovetop off with a cloth.
