People and horses share a long and rich history together, with horses being first domesticated around 3500 BC. And if there’s one thing I learned about horse people is that they really, REALLY love horses. They’re so very passionate about these animals but I never quite understood this until I finally had the opportunity to meet a horse up close and personal. Seeing them on TV and in movies is one thing, but actually standing in its presence… it’s hard to explain.
There’s just this beautifully majestic quality about them that is impossible to deny. And wow, are they ever intelligent and social. It became abundantly clear to me how people can form such a special bond with horses. So what happens when that bond is formed?
Country music legend Billy Ray Cyrus posted a video on his Facebook page of a gray mare who obviously has a very strong bond with her trainer. In the video, the horse takes center stage at a rodeo and stands still until Achy Breaky Heart starts playing. Right on cue, the horse begins dancing perfectly in sync with the group of line dancers. Heck, this horse has more rhythm and fancy footwork than I do! One can only imagine how much time and dedication went into learning this jaw-dropping performance. And the best part is that it looks like everyone is having fun. Just look at the horse’s reaction at the very end of the performance!
