He Isolated Himself In The Desert For 25 Years. What He Reveals Inside His Cave… OMG!

Imagine you’re taking a hike in a desert when you stumble upon a cave. Would you dare to go inside? Being the paranoid person that I am, I would most definitely keep out because who knows what dangers lurk inside? Dangerous animals? Enormous creepy crawlers? Batman? Who knows… but if it were one of Ra Paulette’s caves, I would be missing out in a big way. And that’s because Ra has spent over 25 years shaping New Mexico’s sandstone into man-made caves. His caves aren’t just child’s play either. His caves are absolutely enormous and beautifully artistic. When you see what he’s made you’ll be hard pressed to believe that it was all done by one man and his passion. Incredible!

Ra had become sick and tired of his commissioners cutting him off from projects due to artistic differences, so he started this epic personal, independent project. “I’m through working for other people. I’m not the paint brush and my client is not the painter,” explained Paulette. “I’ve had ideas for ages that I’ve never gotten to trying. I wanted to create a space that’s transformative. That’s a big goal.”

He traveled to the remote location only accompanied by his dog. Once you see the results you’ll find it very hard to believe that everything, including the stairs, the corridors, and the doorways, was created using manual tools.
