Hotel Guests Petrified As Lightning Strikes Steps From Where They’re Recording Downpour

I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again, nature has its amazing ways. For everyone that’s interested in being in the great outdoors, you’ll know that mother nature sometimes throws curve balls at you in the form of inclement weather. This can also happen, and throw a wedge in your plans, while you’re on vacation. The Allfrey family experienced something similar when they were holidaying in Australia.

Tim Allfrey and his family were on vacation in Queensland when a thunderstorm occurred; they were restricted to their hotel room so he figured he’d take out his camera and record the pouring rain and monstrous thunder.

The thunder seemed like it was at a distance but in the early footage of the video, you can see the flashes here and there, in the sky. I think with what happened next, it’s safe to say that the scared guests simply THOUGHT that the thunder was a bit further away.

As Tim is making a panoramic video of the entire ordeal—BOOM!—a lightning bolt strikes his very own hotel room balcony! It makes a loud sound, and the surrounding area is beaming with the light from the bolt. You can also notice that the sparks from the impact are just centimeters away from the table sitting on the porch. What an experience to capture on video!

As scary as this situation may have been, we’re sure that the family has an everlasting memory of the way natures works—their experience is also quite up close and personal!
