Dad Carefully Places 2 Mattresses Against The Wall. Now Watch This Mind-Blowing Transformation…

Adam likes to build things. Normally, those things are of the digital variety since Adam is a web developer in Vermont. But being a father of two young girls, Adam decided to get super creative while maintaining a very modest budget for a very special Christmas present that his kids would never forget. Adam would give their regular bedroom an incredible, mind-blowing transformation that would no doubt leave all the other kids completely jealous.

Part of the challenge was that the bedroom was very small so while Adam was playing around with the idea of a “fort” concept, he realized that he needed to make use of the available vertical space. The concept evolved to a castle before Adam abandoned it and settled on a winner: an indoor tree house!

Incredibly, the indoor tree house was built around the IKEA Malm Dresser.  On both sides of the dresser are the “trees” that Adam created. At the very bottom are the forts for the kids to play in, above it are the mattresses, and above that are the lofts.  But the part that makes me super jealous is the hammock that hangs from both of the trees so that they could crawl across! How cool is that?

Thankfully, Adam was kind enough to record the entire process and create a time-lapse video so that we could follow along on this amazing DIY project and try to replicate it for ourselves! Oh, and not surprisingly, Adam’s kids absolutely LOVED their new bedroom.
