Mom Records Garbageman Holding Her Son And The Internet Is Absolutely Loving It!

There are certain things we all take for granted and don’t miss it until it’s gone. For me, it’s hot water out of the tap. When I get into a long shower at the end of the day or use hot water to wash my dishes or my laundry, I rarely think of where it comes from.

Another example of this is sanitation services. Now, I live in a rural area which means no one comes to pick up the trash from my house. Each week, we load up the trash and take it to the landfill. I have briefly lived in the city and suburban areas, and it’s a luxury to have someone come and pick up your trash. You never even have to consider what happens to it after you put it on the curb or in the dumpster.

In addition, we rarely think about the people who handle those issues for us. Sanitation workers have a difficult job that involves heavy lifting and working outside in all types of weather. They pick up garbage in the hot sun, pouring rain, and even the ice and snow.

We rarely take the time to appreciate or befriend these quiet “heroes”, but Mr. Anthony, a sanitation worker in Baton Rouge, LA is making friends on his route, and they certainly appreciate his efforts. Especially 16-month-old Gray, who has been friends with Mr. Anthony since he was just 5-month-old and can’t wait for the garbage truck to arrive.

Gray’s father wrote about Mr. Anthony and the popularity of the video on Facebook: “These guys work hard, and they still take time out of their day to spend time with my son. That time means a lot to our family, and I’m glad it’s touching so many others as well.”
