There are millions of selfless people in this world who go out of their way to help a person in need. And whether it takes five minutes or five hours, people with a kind nature and a gentle soul will never hesitate to lend a helping hand in any given situation.
Today, we give praise to one such human who goes by the name of Craig Loving, of Austin, Texas. This young man found himself at the Lost Creek Country Club one afternoon when he and his friends noticed a Great Horned Owl in a huge amount of distress in the lake. Upon further inspection, they realized that the poor animal was wrapped up in fishing line and had been stuck for at least 12 hours. And that’s when Craig stepped in.
He entered the lake slowly with a pair of pliers and approached the bird. He then cut the fishing line that was harming the owl and unwrapped the entirety of it, allowing the owl to be free. Unfortunately, the innocent animal was so badly injured that it was unable to move. So Craig put on his thinking cap. Although he was very intimidated and unsure of how to approach the animal, he managed to get close. If you noticed the big, scary talons and sharp beak, it’s safe to assume that pretty much anyone would feel unsure about getting so close to such a majestic and unpredictable bird.
Craig, after some time and building a little bit of trust, he was able to “come in peace.” The owl was hesitant but was able to open up and let the human in. Thank goodness, because I don’t see another way out for the bird! The feathers of his wing got so entangled in the fishing line, he needed a human to help him out!. Finally, Craig is successful, then grabs a shovel for the owl to perch on. Slowly but surely, the owl walked onto the handle of the shovel, allowing Craig to bring it out of the water. The stunning video clip ends with the owl acclimatized to being back on dry land, then flying free.
It’s safe to say that this is a truly heartwarming video clip that any animal lover will appreciate. Additionally, it’s a video that displays the wonderful things we can achieve if we simply keep our eyes open and help those in need.
