Gospel Singer Proves Judges Wrong When Choir Joins

When I opt for a night in, skipping whatever it is my friends may have planned, I choose to lay low and treat myself to a little bit of me-time. Me-time just involves me with a hot cup of tea, my favorite nail paint (so that I can take all the time in the world painting my nails), and watching a whole lot of TV. This is not just any TV—they gotta be shows that I like, for example, “Britain’s Got Talent.”

There’s nothing better than watching and appreciating talent from across the globe come together on one platform, and I love how shows like this one make an effort to get a diverse group of people on the stage every year.

A performance that I came across from earlier this year is that of Patrick George and his incredible ability to sing gospel. It is a blast from the past, but worth a share not only because the performance is simply amazing but also because this gentleman proves Simon Cowell wrong.

For everyone that knows Simon, it’s no news that he is a tough critic. So when Patrick gets on stage, Simon questions him about what he will be doing for them today. Patrick says “I’m a gospel choir.” Now, this revelation surprises all the judges because of course, a choir is sung with more than one person, but no one but Patrick was on stage.

Confused, Simon presses the matter further by asking him where the rest of his team is. The idea doesn’t sit well with the harsh judge, but he gives Patrick a chance, anyway. And boy are we glad he did! Patrick’s amazes the crowd with his perfectly planned act! No one saw this unfolding the way it did. Patrick sure does have the element of surprise down pat. Not only did he catch Simon off guard, but he also wowed everyone with his creative spin on a gospel choir.

Simon, who is always a tough critic, had no choice but to get on his feet by the time the act was finished. You know it’s good when even this judge has no words to criticize.
