He’s Witnessed Murder And Hardship His Entire Life. But Once Pianist Has A Piano, He Works Magic.

It’s so important to hone your skills once you find what you’re good at and want to pursue your skill as a passion. This skill can be anything—singing, dancing, sports, painting, or even any other kind of artistic/non-artistic skill. And I think it’s safe to say that once you find that hobby, it’s seamless to perfect it.

Something similar can be said about the man in the video below. 32-year-old Tokio Myers recently auditioned for “Britain’s Got Talent” and wowed the judges with his talent when he performed his personal take of Debussy’s Clair De Lune and Ed Sheeran’s song titled, “Bloodstream”; he is a former session pianist who uses music and the piano as a way out of a troubled past.

Tokio reveals that music actually kept him out of trouble, otherwise he would have ended up somewhere he doesn’t want to be—in the company of gangs or in jail. The young man even witnessed the murder of his headmaster in school, at the age of 11.

But speaking about his past, and his experience on the infamous show, the pianist says that he is so happy to have turned his life around when he did. He finds himself to be lucky for the the opportunity and to be where he is in life, today.

Going back to the performance in the video below, you can see how in tune he is with the piano and his music. Tokio even gets a standing ovation from 3 of the 4 judges. And although Simon is usually a tough judge to please, he was quite happy with the performance as well.
