Our dogs love us so much, and it is true that their whole lives revolve around us. They wait for us to feed them, walk them, play with them, and when we leave for even a short time, they wait for us to get home. Even if you’re only gone for a few minutes, it can seem like an eternity to your pup, who wants nothing more than to be with you as much as possible.
The same goes for that time in the morning when your dog wakes up before you and must wait patiently (or not) for you to wake up and spend time with them. Whether they’re looking for cuddles, breakfast, or their morning walk, they want nothing more than for you to finally wake up.
My two dogs have very different morning routines. My older dog was always lazy but has become even more so as her age advances. She’s happy to laze around in bed all morning. She sees no reason to wake me up, but once we’re up, she’s happy for a walk and a little play time before heading to the sofa for more napping. My younger and much more rambunctious dog has different ideas about the morning. He doesn’t go as far as to wake me up directly, but he sits next to the bed with his face inches from mine. Then he sighs, loudly.
The dog in this video has the sweetest and most polite way of waking her owner. She tries a few very gentle taps before waiting quietly and then tapping again, ever so gently. I can’t get enough of this adorable angel!
