Bird’s Laugh Turns Spooky When Heard In Slow Motion

Have you ever noticed that in horror movies the killer or stalker usually has a horrible laugh? Think about the movie “It.” The title character and villain of the film is a clown. He looks like someone that should be laughed at, yet he has a terrifying laugh himself.

There’s one bird in the world that has a laugh that sounds like it’s straight out of a horror movie. “The Laughing Kookaburra is Australia’s national symbol. The Kookaburra is a brown-colored bird, about the size of a crow,” according to the National Aquarium. It’s a unique bird with a strange laugh.

Connor Margetts from Adelaide, Australia filmed his Kookaburra, named Dacelo, talking at their home. The bird is named after “Dacelo,” the scientific genius that the Kookaburra is classified under. He just knew that other people would be shocked to hear the way that his bird “talked” to the world.

The Laughing Kookaburra has one of the most recognizable bird calls. In fact, you have probably heard it many times before, even if you have never seen one. When you watch a movie or a television show that’s set in the jungle, there is often sound effects playing. The bird call that you hear with those sound effects is usually the distinctive call of the Kookaburra bird.

Dacelo makes that sound too, but to make things even spookier, Connor slowed down the video so that the bird’s recognizable laugh takes on an eerie tone. It’s something straight out of a horror movie. But, Dacelo looks as friendly and cute as can be!

Watch the video to hear Dacelo’s laugh. Please like and share!
