It’s that time of year again. Back to school. The lazy days of summer are over. No more sleeping in, trips to the pool, and wearing your bathing suit all day every day. It’s time to pack those shiny new pens, pencils, and notebooks into your brand new backpack. Nothing is better than brand new erasers, scissors, and unrumpled pages of lined pages. It means carefully choosing and laying out that all-important first day of school outfit. Even though it’s still summer, I couldn’t wait to show off my new pair of cute jeans and wear my unscuffed shoes.
A brief excursion into the local Target reminded of what I loved the most about back to school. It was always the supplies. Is it just me, or are school supplies a lot cooler now? Last week, when I asked my high-school aged nephew what he needed for school, it was not a Trapper Keeper. Instead, I found myself researching and buying the newest, coolest Chromebook – a sleek little laptop designed with students in mind. Instead of laptops, here are some nifty school supplies from back in the day.
