Sisters Sing Duet In Loving Memory Of Their Brother

Duane and Cindy Mullett, from a small town in North Carolina, are devout believers in their faith – Duane has served with the Gospel Express prison ministry, helping people become transformed by the presence of God for over 30 years while Cindy homeschools their five children. Together, they are a practicing family that shares their talents with the world, traveling and singing together in church, and across the country.

The Mullett family suffered hardship when their firstborn, and only son, passed away at 17 years old from a bacterial infection complication during his second heart transplant. This video is his youngest sister, Kyra, and second oldest sister Alisha singing a tribute song in his loving memory.

Kyra is the baby of the family and the star of this music video. She is singing most of MercyMe’s “I Can Only Imagine,” the best-selling Christian rock single of all time. It’s sold over 2.5 million copies, reaching platinum twice, and even inspired the relatively unknown, true story behind MercyMe’s lead singer in the Hollywood blockbuster movie, “I Can Only Imagine.” This song has touched millions of lives, and Kyra brings it to life with her older sister Alisha in this soul-stirring video.

The video opens to Kyra and her dad leaving flower petals on the grave of her brother. The camera cuts to Kyra in the church, looking up towards heaven. We see her again drawing a picture of herself with her brother and Jesus at the moment they all get to reunite.

Alisha’s voice comes in and we see her on a stone bench outside. Their voices merge creating a harmonizing sound effect that just adds to the overall beauty of the piece! This duet is a stunning tribute in memory of Austin.
