Stranger Buys Plane Ticket For Soldier Stuck At Airport

Isn’t it amazing when someone you barely know (or someone that you know really well) goes out of their way to do something kind and wonderful for you? It could be something small such as buying you lunch when you’ve forgotten your wallet, or it could be something big, like helping you move. Either way, each act of kindness is always appreciated, and gives us human beings great faith in humanity. Which is why this story will absolutely melt your heart.

It was Thanksgiving Day when Keaton Tilson, a mechanic in the army, was given the day off on the spur of the moment. Being stationed at Fort Hood in Texas, he rushed to the airport in hope that he could catch a flight to see his family in Illinois. He purchased a ticket on standby but unfortunately, all seats were full, leaving Tilson to feel hopeless and upset. And that’s when a kind stranger stepped up to the plate and sincerely made Tilson’s day.

The stranger, named Josh Rainey, offered Keaton his ticket but due to airplane policy, transferring tickets was not allowed. And that is when Rainey decided that he would purchase a plane ticket for Keaton, which cost him $350. Because of this, Keaton was able to go home to see his family that he was missing sorely.

Josh said that purchasing the ticket held no flame to the service that Keaton provides for their country. The two men then hugged while tears streamed down their face. “We shook hands at first and then he walked away, and then he came back and asked if he could hug me, and I think we both had to fight back the tears after that,” said Josh.

Isn’t this just an absolutely stunning story? Watch it in full below and be sure to share the love with your family and friends because kindness really does go a long way!
