Commuters Notice They’re In For Some Fun When Staircase Turns Into A Giant Piano

We’re always told that being healthy means eating well and exercising. And, that’s just about right. Although many of us may not have the kind of healthy lifestyle that we want, mainly because of our busy schedules, we do try to eat well and get some exercise in, in some way, shape, or form.

Sometimes, however, we get lazy, and think “I’ll do it tomorrow.” Life is already pretty busy without having to cram yet another thing to do in our busy schedules! But it’s when we realize we can drop the all or nothing attitude that we can actually get stuff done.

When I say all or nothing attitude, I mean we can still get things like exercise and working out done, without all the pomp and circumstance. It doesn’t have to be a one-hour workout or a 15K run. The attitude towards working out or eating better can be simple. Simple as in taking small consistent steps instead of biting off big things to chew. Think about how you can get even just a teeny bit healthier by doing easy tasks – like taking the stairs instead of the elevator.

To make the stairs a bit more enticing, car manufacturer Volkswagen, thought about a way to add some fun to the stairs the next time people have to choose between an escalator/elevator or the stairs. The company is naming this test the “Fun Theory” in which they want to encourage people to find fun solutions to their dilemmas and what better way to do it than to turn the stairs into a giant piano?

The company decided to use a transportation station in Odenplan, Stockholm as it’s test subject. It turned the stairs into a piano with full white and black keys and electronic panels for sound; they then recorded the commuters’ reactions, and they sure were priceless! I can’t even deny how much fun and exciting this looks! I wish I had these at home. I’d be working out and making music all the time! OK so it’s not a full-on work out but it sure does work up a sweat and get you moving – and isn’t that the key? To get moving?

The video starts off as being funny, but as the day goes by, it gets even more hilarious!
