Video: The Largest ‘Supermoon’ In 70 Years Is About To Rise And Break All Records.

Folks, mark November 14th, 2016 on your calendars. On that Monday, you’ll want to look skyward to see a very rare and special lunar event. What you’ll witness is a full moon. But it won’t be just any ol’ full moon… it will be a supermoon lighting up our North East sky. A moon is considered a supermoon when there is a full moon and when the moon makes a particularly close approach to Earth during its orbit. As a result, the moon will appear much larger and much brighter than usual. As if this wasn’t enough, this supermoon will be a record-breaking supermoon. The last time a full moon has been this close to earth was almost 70 years ago on January 25, 1948.

“The full moon of November 14 is not only the closest full moon of 2016, but also the closest full moon to date in the 21st century,” explained NASA. So grab your friends and grab your cameras, and make an event of it.

The supermoon is expected to reach the peak of its full phase on the morning of November 14 at 8:52AM EST (1352 GMT) and it will continue to fill the skies throughout the night. It will be nearly two decades (November 25, 2034 for you keeners) before the next time the moon is this close and bright so whatever you do, do not miss this!
