Despite the fact that we have been taught from a very young age that sharing is caring, it’s still somewhat true that many of us, in certain situations, would rather not. Like, say you had your very last (and favourite) piece of candy and you had to give it away to a sibling or friend—wouldn’t you rather just, not?
Of course, there’s a time and a place when being kind is just a no-brainer, like when someone is in dire need of help, but for this little porcupine, sharing is just not an option. And it’s caused the Internet a whole barrel of laughs!
In the video below you will see a lady handing her pet porcupine a corn on the cob. The animal persists to take it and starts eating frantically, enjoying every single bite as if it were it’s last—which isn’t even the funny part, mind you. Once its owner playfully tries to take away the food, the cheeky porcupine begins to air its frustrations by speaking actual words. Yes, seriously. If you listen closely, you will hear it say, “Mine,” over and over, as well as the phrase, “The corn is mine.”
Well isn’t that an absolute first? What’s next? A giraffe asking for a glass of water? An elephant politely requesting a bubble bath?
