Shelter Dogs Run With School Cross Country Team

Kindness and love can come in many different forms. It doesn’t necessarily have to involve money and it sometimes doesn’t even require too much effort to make someone’s day. A simple, “hello,” or a compliment can really go far in life. So, when you hear about feel-good stories, it automatically brings a warmness in our hearts and a smile on our faces, because we know just how lovely it is to be on the receiving end.

For that reason, you are absolutely going to love this story. It surrounds the cross country team at St. Joseph’s High School in California who decided that they could use their talent and energy to give back to the community.

They visited the County Animal Shelter in Santa Maria and arranged for all of the lovely pups to go for a run with the high school students every morning. In that way, they’re receiving love and exercise—something that they so badly want and need.

The cross country coach, Luis Escobar talked about the situation by saying, “This morning me and the St. Joseph High School Cross Country Team conducted our workout at the County Animal Shelter in Santa Maria. With the help of Stacy Silva we successfully completed the first ever team Dog Run! Each team member was assigned a dog and we went out for a couple miles around the shelter. I am not sure who was more excited and having the most fun…the dogs or the kids. Either way, it was a great time and I am sure we will do it again sometime soon. Thanks Stacy Silva and Geoff Clinton.”

What an absolutely amazing act of kindness!
