10 Winter Hacks Anyone Who Hates The Cold Needs To Know

Whenever someone asks me if I prefer extremely hot weather or extremely cold weather, I always go with the cold. I reason this by saying that on a hot day, I can only take off so many layers of clothes. Whereas on a cold day, I can wear multiple layers of clothes and stay warm and toasty! But the moment a bitter cold day hits, I instantly regret my decision.

I do my best to bundle up in warm clothes but I still end up being an uncomfortable mess. My extremities and my face still get cold, my nose gets runny, and the well-covered parts of my body get all sweaty. On top of all of that, I have to walk very carefully outside because to avoid slipping on ice.

So while I’m coming to terms with the fact that yes, I do indeed hate freezing cold weather, I’ve fortunately learned some incredibly clever winter life hacks to help me make it through those dreadful days. Thanks to HouseholdHacker, we’ve got some great tips and tricks to help you out so you don’t need to spend all of winter hibernating at home (although that still sounds tempting). Some of these winter life hacks include:

  • Winter-proofing your shoes by melting some wax over it with a blowdryer (skip to 0:16 of the video to see this)
  • sweeping up fresh powdery snow with a broom
  • removing sticky wet snow by using a shovel that you’ve lubricated with non-stick cooking spray
  • helping you fight the common cold by making a Vicks Vapor bomb that you leave in your shower

Watch the video below and let us know which one is your favourite hack. And don’t forget to share it with your family and friends!
