Grandpa Shows Off His Fun Moves In Dance With Granddaughter

When age starts to weigh a little heavier than it did yesterday, it’s a blessing to have a shot of youth to brighten your day. Sometimes it can be found in the high energy of a little puppy. Maybe in the smile of a child or the presence of a young adult. Wherever it’s found, it can be the difference between a good and a bad day.

This young lady is Rachel, a loving, doting, thoughtful granddaughter who’s been adding a little zest to her grandfather’s life ever since he was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s.

Rachel’s grandpa is 93, and after watching this video, you might not know what age he is anymore! At the request of his granddaughter, she put on some music and asked him if she could have this dance. And he said yes! Together, they are seen loosening up a little and grooving. They are all smiles, and swaying from side to side, enjoying each other’s company and relishing the moment.

Moments like this one are so precious for grandchildren. They’re not only spending time with their elderly grandparents, but they’re also giving these men and women a reason to feel and act young again. My parents always say that their grandkids keep them on their feet and active—they don’t feel the effects of aging when the kids are around!

Now, getting back to this grandpa-granddaughter duo, with the upbeat music, they’ve got each other to lean on. This moment is heartwarming, and one where young and old can connect. And grandpa gets into it! At first, he’s a little reserved, but a few moments into the video prove he’s got a few moves up his sleeve to share with the world. He’s shimmying, and two-stepping his way across the floor and into everyone’s heart! What a great pair.

Have you ever grabbed a grandparent, or even parent, and just asked them to go to the flow of the music? If so, how did it go? Doesn’t it give you the feeling of sheer happiness just watching them groove to the sound of some of their favorite songs? I sure loved watching this grandpa get jam out to these tunes, and I think you will too!
