5 Celtic Women Walk On Stage In Poofy Dresses. But When The Music Starts? I Got CHILLS!

Don’t let those poofy dresses distract you, these women can play, perform, and SING. Written by Secret Garden and later made popular when covered by Josh Groban, “You Raise Me Up” is modern hymn, and beautiful whether it is performed by a solo performer or an entire choir. But when the Celtic Women perform it, it’s truly something to behold. If angels sing, I’m pretty sure this is what it sounds like, or at least I hope it is. Originally formed in 2004, the five women of the first line-up of Celtic Women had never performed together. [googlead]These talented female performers were brought together by David Downes, a former musical director of the wildly popular Riverdance, and two of his associates. He certainly seems to have a knack for bringing together fantastic Irish performers that have a positive, broad, International appeal. Even though the group’s line-up has changed over the years, their impact hasn’t waned.

This particular performance is truly spectacular. From the over the top costumes to the amazing back-up singers, and the glittering fireworks, this live show is simply unforgettable.
