Porkchop The Snoring Bulldog Gives His Owner A Sloppy Greeting

I admit it — I am one of those people who allows my dogs to sleep with me. I have always had a dog in my bed and it would feel lonely and empty without at least one furry body snuggled up with me at night. Sure, it means that there is dog hair on the bed and sometimes I have to deal with a little bit of doggy breath, but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

As it turns out, there are actually people who don’t think that you should sleep with your dogs! While I think that is wrong, I suppose that everyone is entitled to their own opinions and personal preferences. But, there are people out there that agree that sleeping with your pooch is okay.

According to akc.org., sleeping with your dogs is not necessarily a bad thing:

The study pointed out that sleeping in the same bed or bedroom as our pets are not just a modern phenomenon. In fact, some traditional cultures considered co-sleeping with animals as beneficial. For example, Aboriginal Australians often slept beside their dogs and/or dingoes for warmth and protection from evil spirits. Unfortunately, modern culture tends to focus on the negative aspects of co-sleeping rather than the benefits.”

Porkchop the English Bulldog looks like he would be happy sleeping just about anywhere, including his owner’s bed. Who wouldn’t want to wake up to that adorable squishy face every morning? He’s sleeping on the floor in this video, but his owner still decides to settle in for a little snuggle. Porkchop is snoring away but his owner’s presence manages to rouse him from a very deep sleep.

Now that his human wants to relax, Porkchop decides that since he was woken up, nobody gets to rest! In my opinion, it serves them right for waking him up out of what looked to be a very good nap. Porkchop looks a little confused by the interruption at first, but then he decides to get his revenge by giving his human lots of sloppy kisses. I’d gladly accept that punishment!

Does your furry friend like to snuggle with you when going to bed? Tell us in the comments, we’d love to hear from you!
