Healthy living is promoted everywhere we go. Although eating well and taking part in some sort of exercise on a daily basis is the best way of staying healthy, we forget that there are other factors that can add to poor health and cause sickness; many of these factors can be found right in our own homes, and one of the biggest ones is mold.
When we start to sneeze and wheeze in the spring/summer time, we usually brush it off by saying it’s “allergy season” but we never consider the fact that there may be other things that can actually make us sick, when we have contact with them on a daily basis. Mold is one of those things that can cause throat and eye irritation, a stuffy nose, coughing, and irritated skin. Notice how all of these are also classified as symptoms of allergies? So, the next time you’re experiencing all of the above, and allergy season is nowhere in sight, you know the problem is something else.
There are companies and people out there who will charge you to clean your house of mold but how would you feel about making a concoction of your own to rid the house of harmful fungus? The main ingredient in this mixture is a bit expensive, but a small use of it will go a long way, so the investment is definitely worth it.
All you need to make this oil-based solution is tea tree oil and vinegar. Vinegar is always known to be a great household product for cleaning, and tea tree oil is known to kill fungus and bacteria, almost instantly.
The video below shows you how to create your mixture of tea tree oil and vinegar and then how to go about cleaning moldy ceilings and surfaces for a cleaner and healthier living environment. Although no one should be around toxins such as mold, practicing to keep the house clean with children around is very important. Adults have better immune systems than children, so you’ll notice things like dust and mold will trigger and affect kids more.
