Natural DIY Repellent Will Get Rid Of Ants In Minutes

I hate creepy crawlies. I mean it. Anything that has more than four legs and lurks around in the nooks and crannies of the house and porch really scares me. I always have to call my husband out to get rid of a spider or a daddy long leg in the house. And, the same thing goes for ants! Ah!

I feel like it can be cool weather or warm, ants are bound to be found anywhere there is an excessive spill or too many food items stored together. Right? But, they are more so visible when the sun is signing, the temperatures are hot, and you want to enjoy some me-time out on the porch.

The warm weather brings BBQs, star-gazing, and plenty of other outdoor activities back on our to-do lists. I know for someone who has waited for summer for a very long time, it’s hard to see me indoors when the temperatures are in the 30s, and the sun is out. I don’t think many can blame me, right?

If you like to explore the great outdoors, or just be outside for gardening purposes, then you know that the one thing that usually becomes pesky about the warm weather is bugs — for me, in particular, ants.

I experience the problem of ants infesting my patio each summer. I’ve tried all sorts of store-bought sprays and traps to get rid of them, but the one thing I’ve noticed is that these solutions are temporary. I notice myself cleaning up ants every couple of days, so this year, I started looking for a more permanent solution.

I learned that I don’t need to pay a visit to the local hardware store to get another ant repellent, it’s much easier to make one right at home! By using some of the things I can find right around the house, I can make a DIY repellent to leave out on the patio all summer long.

Here are the ingredients you need to get started:

  • Water
  • Boric Acid
  • White Sugar

Grab a small container and mix these ingredients. Leave the mixture around the place that the ants collect and watch them all gather around your trap!

If you want to see the results of using the DIY solution, the perfect example is in the video below! You’ll see that the ants won’t be coming back after you put this one out!
