Arachnophobia, the fear of spiders, is a very real phobia that millions of individuals around the world struggle with. Some people’s phobia of arachnids is so intense that they actually begin to panic when within the proximity of a spider of any size. While some may consider this silly, it is reasonable considering there are venomous spiders out there.
Despite the fact that the fear of spiders is an actual phobia, some people like to prank or joke around with those who are scared. But, one individual, instead of pranking their family or friends, decided to prank their dog with a giant, robotic spider to see his reaction! Oh boy, this is going to be good.
In the video recording, the pup versus the giant spider, the canine seems to be frightened at first. The spider is wiggling around, and while creepy in appearance, doesn’t seem to be much of a threat. But the dog is terrified, as would I if I saw a spider that big!
The dog doesn’t seem to know what to do. I know if I saw a spider even half that size, I wouldn’t know what to do either! The pup gets low to the ground as if he wants to attack the bug, but instead, he turns around in fear.
Once the dog turns back around, that’s when he gets an adrenaline surge, just enough to confront the oversized, eight-legged beast. He barks and yelps while in a threatening position. But, the spider doesn’t seem to be up for the fight, for obvious reasons.
Suddenly, things begin to change and the robotic spider begins to crawl towards the canine. It becomes apparent that the pup is still secretly fearful of what the creature may do. While hesitant, he tries to show the spider who’s boss.
No, here comes the good part. At the end of the clip, the yapping pup grabs the giant spider and takes it away from his owner’s property. At this point, all I can think is, the owner must be pretty happy to know that if the spider were real, their canine would do something about it.
