15 Uses For Mouthwash That Don’t Involve Cleaning Teeth

While I was growing up, brushing my teeth twice a day was a rule I had to follow — the morning was a given, of course. But, my mom would be towering over my siblings and I each night, as well, to ensure that we got all the nooks and crannies cleaned before we hit the sack. I can’t deny the fact that this made a good habit and proved beneficial in the long run!

Thinking back to the times our teeth were under scrutiny every night, I remember trying to take the easy way out one time and using mouthwash instead. Of course, moms always find everything out, and mine did as well. The repercussion: She took the mouthwash out of the bathroom cupboard and put it somewhere out of our reach.

From there on in, it always felt weird to see the mouthwash sitting amidst our cleaning products on a shelf in the garage — that’s not where it REALLY belongs, it’s meant for cleaning bacteria inside your mouth and nothing else, right? Wrong!

Seems like mom knew exactly what she was doing when she took that bottle of Listerine and put it away for other uses. Here are 15 ways to reuse Listerine in a way we may have never thought of!
