This Dog Adopted An Orphaned Animal… See What This Unlikely Pair Looks Like Now!

If you have an animal in your life, you are already aware that they bring us reminders of love and compassion, in big ways and small, day after day. Maybe your dog greets you every day at the door, tail wagging, ecstatic that you are home. Or perhaps he provides quiet comfort, as he lays his head on your knee, or snuggles with you on the sofa after a particularly difficult day. As I sit at my desk writing this, my cat is curled in my lap, purring softly. Her mere presence brings me warmth and happiness. [googlead]

As humans, we have a bond with our animals. But animals, both wild and domesticated, can have loving relationships with other animals as well. When animal rescuers found Poncho clinging to his mother’s side after a car hit her, the tiny opossum was fragile and unlikely to survive. With the careful care of his rescuers he did survive, but was still an orphan. That is, until he met Hantu, a white German Shepherd with no pups of her own. She adopted the little Poncho and raised him as her own. Hantu carried Poncho around much like his mother would have, and to this day they go for walks in the woods the same way. This video is amazing, and these two can teach all of us something about kindness and compassion.
