She Rolls A Crescent Roll Around A Slice Of Apple To Make THIS Mouthwatering Dessert!

If you have a sweet tooth then chances are that you love apple pies. But are you familiar with the apple pie’s cousin, the apple dumpling? The apple dumpling has its roots in the northeastern United States and it is commonly eaten for breakfast and dessert. And here’s the good news: they can be made very easily!  Thanks to Rada Cutlery, we have a wonderful tutorial on how to make these delectable treats. Ingredients

  • 1 (8 oz.) tube refrigerated crescent roll dough
  • 1 large Granny Smith or Gala apple
  • 1/2 C. butter peeled and cored
  • 1/2 C. sugar 1/2 tsp. ground cinnamon
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1/2 (12 oz.) can Mountain Dew soda
  • Vanilla or cinnamon ice cream, optional

Instructions (makes 8 dumplings)

  1. Preheat oven to 350-degrees.
  2. Grease an 8″x8″ baking pan; set aside.
  3. Unroll dough and separate into eight triangles.
  4. Cut apples into eight even wedges.
  5. Place one apple wedge on each dough triangle and starting at the smallest end, roll dough around apple. Pinch to seal and place in prepared dish; set aside.
  6. In a small sauce pan, melt butter over low heat. Stir in sugar, brown sugar, and cinnamon until blended. Remove from heat and stir in vanilla.
  7. Pour the sauce mixture over apple dumplings.
  8. Pour soda into pan around edges.
  9. Bake for 35-45 minutes or until golden brown.
  10. Serve warm with ice cream and drizzle sauce from pan over the top.
