Baby Born With Unique Hair Takes Just After Her Mother

When a new child is born, relatives and close friends never fail to mention the striking resemblance that the infant has with its mother and father. It could be the shape of his or her nose, their smile, or perhaps the way in which they respond to their new surroundings.

But for new mom Brianna Worthy, who lives in South Carolina, the resemblance between her and her daughter, MilliAnna, is quite a considerable amount more obvious than for most parents and their offspring.

Why’s that? Because both mother and daughter have a very distinctive birthmark—a white streak in their hair! What’s even more astonishing, however, is that this streak has been running in the family for four generations. How amazing is that?

So what exactly is the white streak all about? The occurrence, known as ‘poliosis,’ is a lack of pigmentation in a person’s skin or hair, and thus leaves it without color. And while Brianna admits that she was made fun of during school for her white streak of hair, she says that she is very excited to see that her first and only child bears the same trait.

“The majority of the time I welcome the polite comments and don’t mind answering the many questions, but honestly, it can be overwhelming at times. When I’m in a rush and just trying to do what I need and keep going,” says Brianna.

Either way, we agree that MilliAnna is one of the most adorable little girls we’ve ever seen and we hope that their family genetics continue to grace their family members with a unique and quirky white streak!
