8-Year-Old Raises Money To Buy Lunch For 295 Kids

Sometimes all you need in your day is a small gesture to make things better. When things aren’t going the way you planned, you know that it makes you happy to see someone do something kind for a stranger; or, when a colleague brings in a soup for someone else who is sick at work. These little gestures add up to brighten anyone’s day, regardless of whether or not you’re involved.

So, today, if you’re looking for an incredible feel-good story, you’ve come to the right place because what you’re about to read is so heartwarming, it’ll probably encourage you to go out and do something great for another human being.

It surrounds an eight-year-old schoolboy by the name of Cayden Taipalus who attends Challenger Elementary in Howell. He is a boy that is not only great at academics but also has an extremely big heart. This was noticed when he was standing in the lunch line, waiting to get a hot meal, and witnessed his friend being denied lunch because he did not have enough money. This saddened Cayden to such an extent that he felt he should actively do something about the situation.

For that reason, he went home and spoke with his mother. He explained to her what had happened and together, the pair brainstormed the best way to eradicate the problem. They decided to start a fundraiser in order to raise money for the students who could not afford to eat a hot lunch—either because they did not have the money or they were in debt.

Luckily, his fundraiser surpassed their wildest expectations and, all thanks to Cayden, the amount raised was able to help a whopping 295 kids receive a great lunch at school. Additionally, these children remained anonymous to remove any possible stigma.

Cayden’s amazing act not only helped the children in his school but also allowed him to the win the title of, “Person of the Week” on 7 ABC News. What an outstandingly wonderful achievement!
