Cop Leaves Car To Stop Grandma From Dancing Alone

When in doubt, dance! Waiting for water to boil? Dance! Need to cheer up a little? Dance! Moving your body to music, or whatever is playing in your head, just feels so good, and you can’t deny the happiness you get from grooving. Sometimes, I dance in the car, or while brushing my teeth, and I’ve definitely been known to dance by myself from time to time. I don’t need a dance floor or other people to make me want to dance. It just comes naturally to me!

Looks like it’s the same for Millie Seiver, a 92-year-old woman who can’t stop doing what she loves. She, too, is known for busting out dance moves, whenever, wherever! I’m sure I’ll be just like her when I reach her age.

Police sergeant Kim Lenz, who has been working for the police department for a decade, knows Millie. Sgt. Kim sees her frequently on her patrols, and always smiles and waves to the senior who’s usually dancing! That’s right. Millie typically dances outside, alone in different parts of the city – just because she can!

In this video that has recently gone viral, Sgt. Kim stumbles upon Millie who’s dancing outside of her home in Austin, Texas, USA. Instead of just driving by this time, however, she decided to do something different and pulled over. Sgt. Kim dropped what she was doing, and as seen on the dashcam, goes to join Millie for a little moment of fun that brought a huge smile to the senior’s face! Sgt. Kim takes Millie’s hands as they bop around and even do a spin. It’s just them and the music, as they exchange a few words and dance moves and end with a hug. The heartwarming scene was “very unexpected,” Millie said. “I don’t know, I was just so amazed, I was so shocked, I didn’t think it would go any further than that,” she claims. “Probably a little proud, I suppose, of the fact that it drew attention that I’m able to do what I can do.”

Those who are near and dear to the dancer are aware of how much she loves to dance! “Yup, yup, always dancing. At her 90th birthday party, we were out dancing because I love to dance too,” Millie’s granddaughter Tammie Maus-Sutphen said. What a sweet moment. Even after a few days, Sgt. Kim made sure to come back and thank Millie for making her day a little brighter, but I’m pretty sure the feeling was felt from both women!
