Cops Stop Teen In The Middle Of Night. He Then Says He’s Walking ‘5 Hours Home From Work’.

Each day, all over the world, there are people who are struggling and willing to do practically anything to make ends meet. They work long hours and face difficult commutes to jobs that involve hard work, long hours, and low pay. And it’s needless to say that they deserve to be recognized for their hard work and persistence.

Fortunately, there are people and communities who are willing to help and bestow kindness on those that need it. These people deserve recognition, as well. And that’s exactly what this story is about. [googelad2]

At just 18, Jordan Duncan had no other means of transportation, so he used to walk to and from work every day. He needed his job to help his family, pay for his college tuition, and put what little was left over towards a car. Whether it was cold, hot, or raining, it didn’t matter. Many days, that walk could take up to five hours, which often meant walking during the early morning hours or very late at night.

On one of his late night walks from his job as a packaging line worker, he encountered a police officer who would change his life for the better. When Duncan saw the flashing lights behind him he was immediately worried that he had done something wrong. When Corporal Kirk Keffer asked Duncan where he was going, he replied, “home”. The police officer offered Duncan a ride home that night and Duncan explained why he needed the money.

After Kirk dropped Duncan off at home, he left knowing he wanted to do something to help the boy with the amazing work ethic. His police department started with getting Duncan a bike, but it gets much better than that. A GoFundMe campaign helped Duncan get a car as well. There was even money left over for schoolbooks and to help his family.
