Kids Give Veteran Couple Tiny House

The story you’re about to read is a testament to the fact that we should never underestimate anyone. Too often, we disregard people because we feel that they don’t have the skills or capability to make extraordinary things happen, but this couldn’t be further from the truth!

To prove this point, a group of school children from Elm Street Elementary School put all of their resources and energy together in order to make a huge difference. They began a project whereby they would build small houses for those in need. And their first house went to a lovely navy veteran, Eddie Browning and his wife, Cindy. The pair had been living on the street for quite some time, enduring the harsh winter while praying for a roof over their heads. Finally, their prayers were answered.

“I don’t have the words to tell you what we feel,” a tearful Eddie said. “I couldn’t believe it,” said Cindy Browning, “It’s a dream.” Not only did these children build a small home for Eddie and Cindy, but they were also able to help with the electricity, and plumbing, while other volunteers helped with adding amenities to the home.

“[This] will be warm,” Eddie said, “We’ve been freezing to death.”

For now, the children are busy working on their next home and hope that they can provide many homeless heroes with a comfortable and warm place to stay. The group even go by the motto, “tiny houses, big dreams”.

Isn’t this truly heartwarming? It just goes to show that when people come together, magic really can happen.
