Have you ever noticed how some animals enjoy music? It brings such joy to my heart when I see my cats smiling as they fall asleep to a relaxing song I put on. Maybe you have a pet cat who does the same thing as mine, or maybe your dog howls along to certain songs. Either way, it’s always a good time watching animals enjoy music or even our own singing.
A Minas Gerais, Brazil woman named Patricia Varela Favano has had the beautiful experience of witnessing Master Sidarta Gautama the cow jam out with her while she was singing. I never would have thought cows of all animals would love music, but apparently, this cow is living proof that they can and do!
Favano recorded a video of the sweet duet for proof.
In it, 48-year-old Favano, who’s wearing a dress and barefoot, is relaxing in a barn with the trusty cow lying next to her. She begins to sing slow and soft. Her voice is beautiful. I imagine it’s helping relax Master Sidarta Gautama as the cow is closing their eyes, looking as peaceful as ever before. Even just shortly into the video, it’s so sweet to watch.
Not long into her singing, the farm animal begins to quietly moo along. As the woman continues to sing, the cow gets more and more comfortable, eventually incorporating louder and longer moos into their now-duet.
I won’t lie; the cow doesn’t necessarily have the best singing voice, but that’s not the point! It’s beautiful seeing Master Sidarta Gautama engage in what we believe to be a “human” activity and completely enjoy themselves while doing so.
Favano and her husband Victor, too, see the deeper meaning behind the special, one-of-a-kind duet.
“There is no intellectual knowing at the level of what is happening here however we can feel there is serenity, joy, and deep peace about life and how we interact with mother nature and even among us humans which are known to be part of this rescue,” said Favano and her husband. “Human souls can be touched and filled through it, giving a sense of knowing that there is a deeper meaning of life and an order that underlies all of existence.”
Hear Patricia and her cow companion sing below. I hope Favano releases more duets with this adorable cow! They both seem to enjoy singing as much as the other.
