We often hear about the many things a mother does for her child, from teaching them how to read to planning and putting together their birthday parties each year. However, it’s not every day that we recognize what fathers do for their children. By playing an active role in their kids’ lives, fathers, directly and indirectly, aid in their emotional, social, and cognitive development.
Baby Mary is one child who’s lucky to have a close bond with her father at such an early age. In fact, one day her mother Danielle Johnson Jones spotted her husband Ryan holding their little one while they sang the song, “I’m Moving On” by Rascal Flatts in unison! The touched mother couldn’t help but film the duet on her phone and post it on social media without her husband’s knowledge.
In the adorable father-daughter bonding experience, Ryan sings face-to-face to little Mary, who’s wearing a pale pink bodysuit. Each time her daddy sings, her face immediately lights up, she squirms around, and she begins singing too as best as an infant can!
“Sing it, girl, sing it,” replies Ryan to his baby daughter.
Then when Dad sings the lyric, “I’m moving on,” that’s when Mary really gets into the duet, singing along with all her little might. She might be young, but she already has an interest in music! Mary isn’t old enough yet to know the exact lyrics, let alone understand what the lyrics mean, but she’s already a Rascal Flatt’s fan.
Although Baby Mary’s singing is too cute for words, what’s just as adorable is how much love is in her father’s eyes as he’s singing to his baby girl. It’s little moments like this that a child may forget as they grow up, but the parent never will, that’s for sure.
“He’s going to kill me for posting this!” was the first thing that came to Danielle’s mind upon uploading the video on Facebook. While she didn’t intend that it’d receive over 13 million views, 18,000 comments, and nearly 300,000 shares, the mother did expect that the video would be enjoyed by her close friends and family members. Boy, did it go viral!
Like Danielle, others were also touched by the video, hence why she posted it without her husband’s initial consent.
One commenter says, “One of the best videos I’ve ever seen. Pure love is overflowing. Beautiful.”
