Dad Embarrasses Kids By Pulling Out Hilariously Awkward Dance Moves For Everyone To See

Parents are supposed to embarrass their children. It’s kind of a rite of passage. Like when my mom would drive me to school, drop me off, and yell out the window, “Have a great day, sweetheart! Hope your rash feels better!” Or when I’d have friends over and my dad would play folk music that sounded trippy and none of us liked. Parents are just naturally embarrassing until you get to an age where you can embrace their eccentricities (and probably turn out to be like them!) but until then, it can get a little weird and feel awkward!

In this hilarious Jimmy Fallon segment, the host sent one of his writers to the street to get dads to dance around in front of their kids, and really up the awkwardness ante!

In the hilariously titled, “World of Dance Dads” there is a variety of dads with their kids who stopped to get down and boogie! It’s so impromptu and so perfectly timed. The first dad is with his adolescent son and young daughter. The host asks the girl if she’s seen her dad dance before, and her reaction implies that she’s witnessed his antics countless times! Her eyebrows are raised and her answer, “Yes.” Pause. “Oh, my gosh….” is a preview of what’s to follow!

Dad jumps to it, treating his kids and the audience to an extra special boogie-woogie. First, he warms up by testing the waters. He’s walking in a circle, then proceeds to “Raise the Roof,” the first classic move of the segment. The son is asked, “How do you feel watching your dad now?” He replies, “This is very awkward,” just as dad pulls a trick from out of his sleeve by jumping up to do the “splits.”

There are a few more dad and kid pairs, and it gets exponentially funnier! Everyone is having a good time, and laughing all the way through! What’s so great is that it’s on national television, too! Not only do these kids get to be embarrassed by their dads, but they also get to relive it forever! Hopefully, mom is at home recording all the fun moves like The Dad Jig, The Mime, The Butter Churn and a really good one, Dadurday Night Fever!
